Celebrating over 100 years of Valuation

We are proud to be celebrating over 100 years of Valuation in New Zealand.   The Members Guide provides an overview of tasks and events that are scheduled to celebrate this milestone.  The Centennial Logo is available for members to download and use on all communications.

Looking back at Valuation in New Zealand

Tony Culav has compiled video interviews of some of our longstanding members.  These include  Judi Lenart, Malcolm Hanna, Squire Speedy and Murray Findlater.  Hear about their fascinating stories from their carreer in valuation, tips for valuers and changes that they have seen in the profession over the years.

Desmond Gregan - Valuing the Country

Des Gregan, a land valuer specialised in South Island High Country leaseholds and also worked on the West Coast.   Des came to know all the stations, including Molesworth and St James  via horseback during his 30 years of experience.    Hear about Des's adventures from 1947.

Mr. D. J. (Des) Gregan was made a Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Valuers in 1964 and was a Councillor for South Canterbury during the late 1950’s and early 1960’s.

Mr. Gregan wrote a number of articles on the valuation of High Country property published in the New Zealand Valuer.

Following his death in 2005, the Timaru Herald published an article on January 24 th 2006.
